Consider Installing a Ductless Heating System

Winter is here, which means you should already have a home heating system in place to keep you warm. If you don’t already have a home heating system installed, now is the time to get one. Ductless heating systems offer a number of unique advantages that you’re bound to appreciate this winter. Let’s look at how ductless heating works, and how it can help keep you warm this winter.

What is Ductless Heating?

Ductless heating systems are heat pumps that eschew ducts. Instead, an air handler is installed in each room that requires heating. The air handler serves only that room, and has a corresponding thermostat to control it. Up to 4 indoor air handlers can be connected to a single outside unit. Like all heat pumps, a ductless heating system heats the home by evaporating refrigerant in the outside unit to absorb thermal energy. Then, the indoor units condense the refrigerant back into liquid to release the heat into the home.

The Advantages of Ductless Heating

Ductless heating systems offer a wide range of advantages. Since each air handler has its own thermostat, it can operate separately from the rest of the system. This means that different parts of your house can be set to different ideal temperatures. No more warring over a single thermostat when you and a family member want to change the temperature. Ductless heating systems are also more energy efficient than traditional heating systems. This is because they don’t burn fuel to generate heat, which saves quite a bit of money on heating costs. Ductless heating systems are a great way to cut down on your heating costs while still saving money.
